Suitable for both parents and professionals

Sleep is a vitally important biological function. As one of the foundational cornerstones of children's health and wellness, good sleep is required for growth, brain development, emotional regulation and overall vitality.

Getting "good sleep" requires looking at both the quality and quantity a child or teenager is getting, relative to the needs of their age.

In modern society, our sleep has taken a hit because it's so difficult to maintain routines and structures...and to simply enjoy restful evenings! Many of us are not sure of "good sleep" really is and what we can do to support it.

In this live webinar, you will:

· Explore the science of sleep and how different sleep stages are impacted by screen and social media use

· Understand the importance of sleep quality for children & adolescents

· Learn evidence-based strategies to reduce screen-use in order to improve sleep & overall health of children.

You will receive a Certificate of Attendance, a copy of worksheets and lifetime access to all materials.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Understand the science of sleep in children and teenagers - describe the biological processes that regulate healthy sleep, including circadian rhythms, melatonin production and brain development.

2. Recognise the psychological and neurological impact of screentime on sleep - explain how blue light exposure, cognitive stimulation and emotional arousal from devices interfere with sleep onset, duration and quality.

3. Identify the behavioural and health consequences of poor sleep - analyse how disrupted sleep affects children’s and teenagers’ mood, learning, attention, self-regulation and overall wellbeing.

4. Evaluate the role of family, school and social environments in shaping sleep habits - explore how routines, boundaries and role-modelling influence children’s screen use and sleep hygiene.

5. Apply practical, evidence-based strategies to support healthy sleep - develop tailored approaches for parents, teachers and professionals to reduce screentime disruption and promote restorative sleep in children and adolescents.
